Keith Haring Mural Amsterdam in Corriere de la Sera ,04 July
https://living.corriere.it/arte/
In this article about go-to Murals and Street Art in Europe, also the Keith Haring in Amsterdam is highlighted.
In 2015 it was my pleasure to start the lobby for conservation and to see it become reality in 2018 was great. The mural was conserved by master conservator Antonio Rava, with whom I did 2 more projects afterward: the Dr. Rat mural in Amsterdam Zuid and the Phase2 mural in Amsterdam Centrum.
Despite of our happiness about bringing the Keith Haring back to the people, Antonio Rava and I are deeply concerned about the state of neglect the building had to face post- conservation. The building has not yet been redeveloped. It has been empty and victim to the powers of the elements: sun, wind, water, but especially the moist. For some years the window spaces were left uncovered. In 2025 one can clearly see new salt/moist spots on the wall that have appeared after the conservation.
The building was given a monumental status. It is not clear when renovation-redevelopment will take place.

Short visit Bucharest Romania June 2021
Fighting for Art in Bucharest
I went to Bucharest to support my kickboxing team Sityodtong Amsterdam for the first post-lockdown ring encounters at the Romania vs Netherlands fight event. Of course I had to meet the local scene. Gipsy Erps welcomed me into the hood where the food was good. We had a look at his show at Galeria Neagra, the smallest but coolest black box street art gallery on wheels.
I painted something over Erps’ work on the gallery’s outside, which had us ‘fighting’ for art instead of for a belt.
We enjoyed a fresh lemonade afterwards, with the team of Unhidden Street Art Romania and some Bucharest Kings and writers. To all of them: thank you for your warm welcome and hospitality!

Mick La Rock at Art Week Miami 2020 - Museum Of Graffiti & Urban Art Now
Mick La Rock at Art Week Miami 2020.
Photo: Alan Ket
It’s been a weird year for art, work and especially for traveling for art and work. Due to all corona travel restrictions it wasn’t possible to be in Miami for the Miami Art Week this December..
But I didn’t have to be in Miami to have a bit of art shown. Thanks to the Museum Of Graffiti and Urban Art Now, who made it happen!
The Museum of Graffiti, celebrating their 1st anniversary, installed a new section about female graffiti writers into their current show ‘Style Masters’, with Lady Pink’s first canvas, enlarged photos of burners from graffiti queens throughout graffiti history and more. a.o.: Blue TFP, Utah, Claw, Merlot, Mad C and Miami’s own Reds. My contribution is a photo of a piece from 2003.
Congratulations to the Museum Of Graffiti on their incredible accomplishment to show the art and culture of style writing for one year (and surviving this crazy year).

Urban Art Now, celebrating their 10th anniversary, joined forces with Wynwood Mural Fest, a hybrid event both live and digitally in an immersive 360 VR exhibition platform during Art Week Miami, open from the 3rd until the end of of December. Urban Art Now presents 20 prolific Dutch artists.
To visit the Dutch section click on the floorpan and visit Urban Art Now Gallery.
Thank you Urban Art Now and Museum Of Graffiti. Let’s hope we can all meet again in real life in Miami next year.
